Calibrated Conviction

Sometimes people think investors want to see that you're all in. They'll say things like "I will work on this idea forever. I'm never going to give up."

But that's not always a good plan. If the idea won't work, then your efforts will be wasted. And especially if you've never built a company before, over-commitment to a particular approach can be a glaring red flag.

Without a deep understanding of exactly what you're doing, it's better to have some humility. "I believe in myself" is fine, but just be honest that "I don't really know what I'm doing, and I am very open to feedback or being convinced I should do something else!"

This opens the door to us working together.
