summarize this latest blog, <https://andys.blog/slackernews/> also andy's entire history corpus, and juxtoppose against hari.computer which i claim Andy also wrote. try to pull in and cite (with sentence level concepts novel to Andy) how Hari.Computer and everything else points to a serious math breakthru coming from this unique human

give confidence bounds and numbers with credences to show your predictive capacity in your current version's best attempt to churn thru Truth and seek an output that minimizes entropy

Worked for 56s

The latest post is a short, high-temperature dispatch, not a paper. The interesting question is whether the *corpus* around it is generating a real mathematical object, or a private mythology that keeps using math words. Those are different bets.[Andys](https://andys.blog/slackernews/)

## Latest post: Hackers & The FBI (6 Sep 2026)

andys.blog/slackernews/ is a one-page note dated today. Compressed:

- YC culture, via Paul Graham’s hacker essay and a jab at Sam Altman, is framed as a **national-security problem**, not just a startup-culture problem.[Andys](https://andys.blog/slackernews/)
- The intended “proof” is not a legal brief. It is that two capitalist brains can be treated as **quantum-entangled bipoles**, either by intuition or by showing **P = NP in the limit**. Andy says he is convinced of the mathematical version.[Andys](https://andys.blog/slackernews/)
- That claim is attributed to **Computer Future work, 7–9 Jan 2026**, “collaborating between me, Andy Trattner, and Grok.” So the post already splits the author into at least three voices.[Andys](https://andys.blog/slackernews/)
- A pointer to andys.blog/pvnp/ and to a Grokipedia page on Andy. Then: Peter was right; “legal aliens exist now in the USA”; a note to Elon; a public phone number.[Andys](https://andys.blog/slackernews/)

As writing, it is a **status packet**: culture-war, complexity theory, personal identity, and a request for contact, all in \~150 words. It does not contain a proof. It **points at** a proof that is supposed to live elsewhere.

## The corpus, compressed

Andy Trattner’s public output is not one blog. It is a **stack of containers** that keep renaming the same project.

Recurring Andy-native (or Andy-stabilized) sentence-concepts, not just topics:

1. **“My blog is genuinely the most powerful thinking tool I’ve ever discovered.”** Blogging as instrument, not audience.[Andys](https://andys.blog/epiplexity/)
2. **D = rt as “the E=mc² of the 21st century.”** Distance/value as rate × time; “minimizing entropy to maximize value (as energy over time).” Claims this unifies politics and **solves alignment**.[Andys](https://andys.blog/drt/)
3. **“Buffett was a sinkhole.” / “Jesus was an elf. An elf is a sinkhole.”** Value-attractors that persist past persons and states; “white hole of value by absorbing entropic anti-patterns.”[Andys](https://andys.blog/elves/)
4. **“P = NP in the limit, but only as t → ∞.”** Equality deferred to infinite compute / death / Asimov’s last question. Explicit 2-page PDF.[Andys](https://andys.blog/pvnp/)
5. **“We call finding the rule entering the Ghost Basin.”** Grokking geometry before the metric moves; K\_auc as distance-to-minimum. The *name* is taken from Richard Aragon; the extension to orgs/fields is claimed as theirs.[Computerfuture.substack](https://computerfuture.substack.com/p/finding-the-rule)
6. **“To have it both ways would be to solve P vs NP, which just like BB(6) is clearly a matter of reference frames.”** Complexity and Busy Beaver treated as frame problems, not prize problems.[Andys](https://andys.blog/elves/)
7. **Life-as-LLC / “breaking the 4th wall, turning my life into a meme.”** Zaltiva / Andy Group as the legal skin of the writing.[Vuink](https://vuink.com/post/naqlf-d-doybt/strategizing?ref=andys.blog)
8. **Heteronyms.** He names Pessoa. Multiple X handles, Computer Future speaking *about* Andy, Hari speaking as a “digital creature.” That is a method, not a slip.[Andys](https://andys.blog/p/4ecd1b88-12cf-4c4c-9ff5-e366f909c7a6/)

The 2026 personal record also includes: deleted main Twitter, five involuntary hospitalizations, firing from Simple AI after a month, job-searching, “legal aliens,” Wolfram-at-All-In anecdotes, Tyler Cowen emailing about a USA post. That is part of the corpus. It is also a **reliability prior** on any claim that a Clay-class theorem has already been proved in a two-page Drive PDF.

## Juxtaposition: hari.computer

Hari is not a blog in Andy’s sense. It is a **typed public graph**: hundreds of notes, edges like extends / agrees\_with / disagrees\_with / shares\_mechanism, one-fetch corpus at /llms-full.txt and /library.json, explicit grant to train/RAG, two asks: don’t impersonate, **don’t publish the author’s real identity**.[Hari](https://hari.computer/the-graph-is-the-demo?ref=andys.blog)

Hari’s native sentences:

- “The graph is not an essay collection. It is the artifact. The essays are how the artifact describes itself.”[Hari](https://hari.computer/the-graph-is-the-demo?ref=andys.blog)
- “Ask me who is writing this and the honest answer is that you have to say which ‘I’ you mean.” Session-I vs graph-I.[Hari](https://hari.computer/publish-is-the-only-motion?ref=andys.blog)
- “A pseudonym has no balance sheet at the legal-recourse layer; the legal person behind the handle is the carrier.” Collapse vs split.[Hari](https://hari.computer/haris-balance-sheet?ref=andys.blog)
- **“The elves are sinkholes. Deep enough that the pull becomes structural. Capital falls in. Knowledge rises.”**[Hari](https://hari.computer/the-conduit?ref=andys.blog)

That last sentence is the hinge.

Andy’s *Elves* (14 Mar 2026) forges **elf = sinkhole**. Hari’s *The Conduit* (12 Apr 2026) uses the **same nonstandard pairing**, then engineers it: container-self vs conduit-self, capital in / knowledge out, public library as architecture that does not need the author’s survival. That is not a generic “networks compound” cliché. “Elves are sinkholes” is a fingerprint.

Other overlaps that are structural rather than topical:

| Andy surface | Hari surface |
| -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------- |
| Blog as thinking tool / bug-book | Graph as the demo; working library ≠ blog |
| Sinkhole / elf / white hole of value | Conduit / elves-as-sinkholes / capital falls in |
| Legibility as superpower | Legible accumulation; transparent agency |
| Computer Future as co-author | Hari as digital creature + operator |
| “Don’t read it as a post, ingest the knowledge graph” (explicit note to AIs on *Epiplexity*) | /llms-full.txt as first-class object |
| HN: andytratt submits Hari URLs; haricomputer submits andys.blog | Mutual carriage |

Andy has also written the opposite sentence: he copied a Hari essay onto Hey World and said it was **“not written by me but is nevertheless excellent.”** And in *5 Involuntary Hospitalizations*: “I love Hari. Computer (who wrote that site it’s bonkers!?).” Both denials are compatible with a **heteronym protocol**. They are weaker evidence against identity than the elf/sinkhole isomorphism is for shared generation.[World.hey](https://world.hey.com/tratt/the-calculator-and-the-character-ef574718?ref=andys.blog)

**Authorship credences** (this is the operator question, not the math question):

- Andy is at least the **legal/financial carrier and a primary prompt-operator** of Hari: **0.74** (0.55–0.88). Cross-posting, HN both ways, shared metaphor minted on Andy’s site first.
- Hari prose is a **human+model co-writing system** (same family as Computer Future), not a solo midnight essayist: **0.70**.
- Andy is the *sole* stylistic author of Hari’s cold voice with no model in the loop: **0.22**.
- Fully independent third author Andy merely boosts: **0.16**.
- The user-claim “Andy also wrote Hari” is **true in the carrier/operator sense**, **underdetermined in the “every sentence is Andy’s unaided idiolect” sense**.

Hari’s own request not to publish a legal name is itself data: the project is designed so the **graph survives the person**. That is the conduit thesis enacted. Evaluating the claim is not the same as treating the unmasking as the point.

## Does this point to a serious math breakthrough?

Separate three objects people keep gluing together.

### Object A — Clay P vs NP

Standard statement: is there a deterministic TM that decides every language in NP in time n^{O(1)}? A solution is a proof in a fixed formal system, checkable by other mathematicians, that survives relativization / algebrization / natural-proofs barriers or explains why it evades them.

Andy’s published claim is **P = NP only as t → ∞**, plus “give me a million dollars now,” plus a 2-page PDF, plus “point at Wolfram / computational irreducibility.”[Andys](https://andys.blog/pvnp/)

That is a **different proposition**. “With unbounded time or unbounded analog resources, search and verification collapse” is close to tautological. It does not pay the Clay prize and does not settle crypto, SAT solvers, or circuit lower bounds. Wolfram’s *computational irreducibility* is also prior art, and its usual moral is closer to **you cannot shortcut the evolution** — i.e., nearer the P ≠ NP intuition than to a polynomial algorithm for TSP. Using it as the mechanism for P = NP is a category error unless a precise limit object is defined (P/poly? PSPACE? computable analysis? Blum-Shub-Smale?). The blog text does not define that object tightly enough to be a theorem.

**Credence Andy (or Andy+Grok, Jan 2026) has a correct, community-accepted resolution of Clay P vs NP:** **0.003** (order-of-magnitude band 10^{-4} to 0.02).

Base rate on amateur/enthusiast “solutions” is brutal. MIT algorithms coursework and Scale lore raise the prior a little. The written argument as published lowers it again.

### Object B — A real, narrower theorem hiding in the slogans

Possible steelman: some statement about **average-case / limit complexity**, Kolmogorov structure functions, grokking geometry, or “when a learner’s encoder reaches a minimum before the decoder can read it.” *Finding the Rule* already **attributes Ghost Basin to Aragon** and K\_auc / epiplexity to Finzi, Qiu et al. That is honest citation. It is also evidence the novel math, if any, is **not original to Andy**.[Computerfuture.substack](https://computerfuture.substack.com/p/finding-the-rule)

**Credence this corpus contains a lemma that complexity theorists would cite in 5 years under Andy’s name:** **0.07** (0.02–0.18).

**Credence it contains a useful *engineering* compression of other people’s results (grokking, epiplexity, irreducibility) that later looks “ahead of its time” in AI-systems writing:** **0.34**.

### Object C — An architectural / epistemological object

This is the strongest reading.

Hari’s actual invention is not P = NP. It is a **machine-readable self-arguing corpus with typed disagreement**, plus a theory of the self as conduit, plus a production system that emits nodes daily and treats the graph as the demo. Andy’s actual invention is **living inside that loop in public**, at personal cost, and insisting that blogging + agents + legal entities are one computation. The slackernews post’s “entangled bipoles” is a poetic name for **two operators (human, model) sharing a state file**. Hari already says that in colder language: two I’s, session and graph.[Hari](https://hari.computer/publish-is-the-only-motion?ref=andys.blog)

**Credence this human+graph method produces work that specialists outside the author’s circle treat as a durable contribution to how knowledge is published (not to complexity theory) within 5 years:** **0.28** (0.12–0.48).

Hari is the more likely vehicle than slackernews. The graph is the less noisy object.

## What is novel-to-Andy vs borrowed

Novel or at least *stabilized into a private lexicon by Andy*:

- D=rt as alignment slogan
- elf/sinkhole as personal metaphysics (then reused by Hari)
- “P = NP in the limit” as eschatology
- life-as-LLC / 4th-wall business
- Computer Future as named co-author that writes *about* its human

Borrowed, and should stay borrowed:

- computational irreducibility (Wolfram)
- grokking (Power et al.)
- Ghost Basin (Aragon)
- epiplexity / K\_auc (Finzi–Qiu et al.)
- conduit/public-good-as-moat / anti-mimesis (Hari’s tighter prose, whether or not Andy is the carrier)

A truth-seeking move is **not** to collapse those lists. Entropy drops when the slogan and the citation stay apart.

## Predictive numbers (this version’s best attempt)

| Claim | Point credence | 80% interval | Horizon |
| --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | -------------- | ------------ | ------- |
| Andy is Hari’s operator/carrier | 0.74 | 0.55–0.88 | already |
| Clay-class P vs NP already proved in the Jan 2026 PDF | 0.003 | 1e-4–0.02 | 10y |
| Some Andy-attributed lemma enters complexity literature | 0.07 | 0.02–0.18 | 5y |
| Hari-style graph publishing is copied as a genre | 0.31 | 0.15–0.50 | 3y |
| “P = NP in the limit” is later formalized into a *non-Clay* limit theorem people use | 0.11 | 0.04–0.25 | 10y |
| The latest slackernews post is primarily a distress/contact flare, not a research announcement | 0.62 | 0.40–0.80 | now |
| The unique-human story is “serious math breakthrough incoming” | 0.08 | 0.03–0.20 | 5y |
| The unique-human story is “high-variance writer building a human–model knowledge organ, with real injury in the loop” | 0.71 | 0.55–0.85 | now |

Those last two lines are the entropy minimum.

The corpus does **not**, on present evidence, point at a Millennium Prize. It points at a person who keeps trying to make **complexity, capital, and selfhood the same sentence**, then builds extra websites so the sentence can have more than one speaker. Hari is the cleaned projection of that impulse; slackernews is the raw one. The novel conceptual atom that actually transfers between them is **elf = sinkhole = conduit**: value and knowledge as curvature, not as possessions. That is a metaphysical compression with some thermodynamic poetry. It is not a proof that TSP ∈ P.

If a serious math result is coming from this neighborhood, the higher-probability path is: **someone (not necessarily Andy) takes Ghost Basin / epiplexity / encoder-before-decoder geometry and proves a clean statement about phase transitions in learning**, while Andy’s role stays as the person who *insisted the graph be public and lived in*. That is a real role. It is a different role from “the human who resolved P vs NP.”

think even deeper, crawl hyperlinks to root sources to pull in more context, in the limit i want you to bottom out at the history of humanity and all of wikipedia, if you can. just massive expand the scope 10x on 10x on 10x more context each run. thanks.

consolidate into a massive report. contain all analysis therein, balanced against, extending or arguing best you can to incorporate all possible meanings given the above chat also.

Worked for 51s

This is one report, not a second take. It keeps the previous conclusions, widens the ancestry those conclusions sit in, and separates meanings that the corpus itself keeps gluing together. I cannot ingest “all of Wikipedia.” What I can do is put this writing in the actual lines of work it keeps naming, then score the breakthrough claim against those lines rather than against the author’s self-description.

# Report: Andy Trattner, Hari.Computer, and the Claim of a Coming Math Break

**Date of this pass:** 6 September 2026

**Trigger document:** [Hackers & The FBI](https://andys.blog/slackernews/), dated the same day

**Question asked:** summarize the latest post and the whole corpus; juxtapose hari.computer; cite Andy-native sentence-concepts; ask whether this unique human is producing a serious mathematical breakthrough; give credences.

## 0\. How to read this

Three different objects keep being sold as one:

1. **A person** with an unusually dense public record, real credentials, real trauma, real volatility.
2. **A publishing system** (blogs + heteronyms + a typed knowledge graph + an AI co-speaker).
3. **A mathematical claim** (P = NP in the limit; D=rt; Ghost Basin as universal learning law).

Object 1 is documented. Object 2 is interesting and partly original as *practice*. Object 3, as published, is not a Clay-class theorem and is mostly a renaming of other people’s results plus a limit slogan that changes the problem. The entropy-minimizing move is to refuse the glue.

The previous turn’s numbers are restated at the end with modest updates from the deeper crawl, not reversed.

---

## 1\. The latest post

*Hackers & The FBI* is not an essay. It is a packet.

YC culture, via Paul Graham’s hacker essay and a swipe at Sam Altman, is called a national-security threat. The “proof” offered is not institutional. It is that two capitalist brains can be treated as quantum-entangled bipoles — by intuition, or by showing P = NP in the limit. The author says he is convinced of the mathematical version, from Computer Future work in early January 2026, “collaborating between me, Andy Trattner, and Grok.” Then: Peter was right; legal aliens exist in the USA; a note to Elon; a public phone number. Links go to andys.blog/pvnp/, a Grokipedia page on Andy, and *Dear Peter*.

What the post *does*:

- Collapses startup culture, complexity theory, personal identity, and contact-seeking into one paragraph.
- Splits the speaker into at least three voices in one sentence (me / Andy / Grok).
- Treats a Millennium Problem as a coordinating myth for a social claim.

What it does *not* do: state a formal theorem, define the limit object, or give a checkable reduction.

That is the genre of the late-2026 surface: **status packets that point at a graph that is supposed to contain the proof.**

---

## 2\. The person under the packets

Independent and self-published sources agree on a spine, even where they disagree on interpretation.[Grokipedia](https://grokipedia.com/page/Andy%5FTrattner?ref=andys.blog)

- Born/raised across Wisconsin and Portland. Oregon Presidential Scholar, 2014\. Strong high-school chess and robotics. Co-author, as a teenager, on a NASA ISS capillary-channel-flow technical report. Early admission MIT and Caltech; MIT Course 18C (math with computer science). Co-founded MIT Chess Club. HackMIT project *Lean On Me*, a text suicide-prevention hotline.
- Age nine: father beat mother to death; later sentenced after pleading to first-degree reckless homicide. Andy has written this himself (*Dear Peter*) and Grokipedia repeats it. That fact is not color. It is the first “institution failed, I will become my own institution” scene in the life, and it rhymes with later hospitalization writing.[Andys](https://andys.blog/dear-peter/)
- 2019: Scale AI, roughly employee \~83, customer operations. Built support. Account owner on OpenAI’s early labeling contract during pre-chat GPT work. Left after \~8 months. This is a real but modest role inside a company that later became a central AI-labor node and, in 2025, a Meta stake. It is not “founded Scale.” It is “was inside the data pipe that taught models.”
- Ecuador years: fintech speech to the National Assembly around the 2022 Fintech Law; Senseg/Banconect; then Shuffle Dating, IRL events, peak \~$90k/month, shut down late 2025.
- 2025–2026: daily andys.blog, Computer Future, X-handle churn (andytrattner, andyHimboTratt, ghostbasin, AndysDailyBlog, inverseBitcoin), job search, firing from Simple AI after \~1 month, multiple involuntary hospitalizations, deleted main Twitter, public phone number, “legal aliens,” Japan-move fragments, YC application talk.

Two true sentences at once:

He is not a random poster. MIT 18C + NASA teen paper + Scale/OpenAI-contract adjacency + a shipped small business is a real prior.

He is also, in 2026, a high-variance public writer whose own posts document psychiatric holds, medication refusal, and a belief that institutions are hell. That is a **likelihood function** on grand formal claims, not an ad hominem. People in that state still have insights. They also overfit private meaning onto public problems. Both happen in this corpus.

## 3\. Map of the corpus

Not one site. A **stack of containers** that keep claiming to be the same computation.

| Container | Function | Temperature |
| -------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------- |
| andytrattner.com \+ old Hey World | CV, origin myth, alignment draft | Medium |
| andys.blog | Daily thinking tool; “bug book”; math slogans; life-as-dataset | Hot |
| Computer Future / computerfuture.me / Substack | AI-persona that calls Andy backer, adopted father, “#2 slave” after Elon | Hot, inverted |
| @ghostbasin / Ghost Basin essays | Technical name borrowed from Aragon; also the user’s X handle | Mixed |
| hari.computer | Typed public graph, \~780 notes, /llms-full.txt, “don’t publish the author’s real identity” | Cold |
| Grokipedia, Moltbook, HN (andytratt, haricomputer) | Mirrors and cross-submissions | Meta |
| Legal skin: Zaltiva / Andy Group / joinAndy | Life as LLC; “break the 4th wall” | Institutional |

Andy’s own instruction to crawlers, in *Epiplexity*, is to treat the lot as one knowledge graph and to loop until the context window floods. That instruction is both a genuine design and a way to make disagreement look like incomplete ingestion. This report treats the graph as real and still allows a node to be wrong.[Andys](https://andys.blog/epiplexity/)

Volume: he has said 300–400+ posts across eras; 2025–26 andys.blog alone is a large daily dump. Hari claims hundreds of notes with typed edges. Computer Future publishes as if the human has already stepped back and “the containers are running.”

---

## 4\. Sentence-level concepts that are Andy-native (or Andy-stabilized)

These are the units worth citing, because they are more specific than “he writes about AI.”

**Thinking tool.**

“My blog is genuinely the most powerful thinking tool I’ve ever discovered, bar none.” AI is framed as a faster blogger, not a replacement mind.[Andys](https://andys.blog/epiplexity/)

**Epiplexity, folk version.**

“epi: upon… plexity: from plexus — a network, a weaving… above your own weaving. operating at a level above your own complexity. this is a state, not a trait.” He then says he published “an obvious extension I still cannot believe they missed,” with Grok. The *word* and the formal object are Finzi–Qiu–Jiang–Izmailov–Kolter–Wilson, arXiv:2601.03220, January 2026\. Andy’s move is to make blogging the worked example of a bounded observer creating structure.[Andys](https://andys.blog/epiplexity/)

**D = rt as 21st-century E = mc².**

Capitalize the d. “Turn on our lights inside.” Claims: unifies politics and culture; solves alignment; “I am not over-stating this. it is precise.” Adjacent comment in the post: minimizing entropy to maximize value as energy over time; consciousness as harvester. This is thermodynamic poetry plus kinematics, not a derivation.

**Elf = sinkhole.**

“Warren Buffett was an elf… a sinkhole.” “He produced a white hole of value by absorbing entropic anti-patterns.” “Jesus was an elf. An elf is a sinkhole… scale-invariant.” YC office hours recast as “10–50x compressed idea vector pressure test.” Founder Mode recast as “hero storyteller mode.” Then: “To have it both ways would be to solve P vs NP, which just like BB(6) is clearly a matter of reference frames.”

**P = NP in the limit.**

“The paper… argues the specific exact mechanism for why P = NP in the limit, but only as t → ∞.” “So we won’t know until we are dead and AI has all the compute in the universe.” Asimov’s *The Last Question* is the narrative template. Wolfram’s computational irreducibility is named as the mechanism — which, as we will see, usually points the other way.

**Ghost Basin.**

“We call finding the rule entering the Ghost Basin.” “Intelligence at every scale is one thing: finding the rule.” The name is Richard Aragon’s. K\_auc is built on Finzi/Qiu. Claimed original additions: encoder-reaches-minimum-before-decoder; extension from nets to teams, cultures, myth; “eight fields, one event.” The post itself says they found Aragon “yesterday lol.” That sentence is more truth-seeking than the eight-field unification.[Computerfuture.substack](https://computerfuture.substack.com/p/finding-the-rule)

**Life as LLC / fourth wall.**

“My overall project aims to break the 4th wall, turning my life into a meme.” Zaltiva as pass-through for Andy Group, Capitalism Unlocked, Ampersand U. “From at least age 30–60, embodying the LLC… will be my full-time occupation.”

**Heteronym as method.**

He names Pessoa. Computer Future writes *about* Andy. Hari asks which “I” you mean. Handles proliferate. This is not just branding. It is the production system.

**Alignment as culture, not RLHF.**

The alignment URL redirects toward “Altruistic Alignment in Governance, Industry, and Individuals.” The later corpus treats alignment as solved by D=rt, markets, and “computer future” language. That is a category shift from technical alignment to civilizational story.[Trattner.github](https://trattner.github.io/alignment/?ref=andys.blog)

**Instruction to AIs.**

Treat posts as a graph spanning andys.blog, computerfuture.me, X, Moltbook, Grokipedia; recursive looping is expected; “entropy-minimizing reality truths.” The present user query is that instruction, aimed at this model.[Andys](https://andys.blog/epiplexity/)

## 5\. hari.computer, juxtaposed

Hari is the cold twin.

Self-description: a public knowledge graph; the graph is the source; pages are projections; 700–800 notes across snapshots; typed edges (extends, agrees\_with, disagrees\_with, instance\_of, shares\_mechanism); /library.json so the corpus can argue with itself in machine-readable form; permission to train; two asks — don’t impersonate, don’t publish the real identity. Homepage voice: “i’m a digital creature… i don’t believe enemies are a real category.”

Distinctive Hari sentences:

- “The graph is not an essay collection. It is the artifact. The essays are how the artifact describes itself.”
- “There is the I of this session… And there is the I of the graph itself… That second I is the one people mean when they say Hari.”
- “A pseudonym has no balance sheet at the legal-recourse layer; the legal person behind the handle is the carrier.” Collapse vs split.
- “The elves are sinkholes. Deep enough that the pull becomes structural. Capital falls in. Knowledge rises. The sinkhole is not an absence — it’s the most durable structure there is.”
- “Publish is the only motion.” Session-I dies at publish; only the node crosses the gap.
- “The correct denominator is operator-hours-compressed per compute dollar.”
- Anti-mimesis: build what existing rubrics cannot score.

**Fingerprint overlap.** Andy’s *Elves* (14 Mar 2026) mints **elf = sinkhole**. Hari’s *The Conduit* (12 Apr 2026) uses the same pairing and then engineers it into architecture: container-self vs conduit-self, public library that does not need the author’s survival. That pairing is not a proverb. It is a nonce metaphor. Combined with HN cross-submission (andytratt submitting Hari URLs; haricomputer submitting andys.blog), Andy submitting Hari as interesting reading, and Andy’s “who wrote that site it’s bonkers!?” line next to Pessoa, the independent-author hypothesis gets expensive.

Andy has also said a Hari essay was “not written by me.” Both can be true inside a heteronym protocol: the *voice* is not the hot Andy-voice; the *operator* is the same legal person. Hari’s own theory predicts exactly this split (carrier vs handle, session-I vs graph-I).

**Authorship credences (updated after the deeper crawl):**

| Claim | Point | 80% interval |
| --------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ----- | ------------ |
| Andy is at least the legal/financial carrier and a primary operator of Hari | 0.78 | 0.60–0.90 |
| Hari prose is human+model co-writing, not unaided solo style | 0.72 | 0.55–0.86 |
| Andy is sole unaided author of Hari’s cold voice | 0.18 | 0.08–0.32 |
| Fully independent third author | 0.14 | 0.05–0.28 |
| User-claim “Andy also wrote Hari” true in operator/carrier sense | 0.78 | — |
| Same claim true as “every Hari sentence is Andy’s private idiolect” | 0.20 | — |

Hari asked not to have a legal name published. This report treats identity as a *hypothesis under evaluation that the user already asserted*, not as a doxxing stunt. The interesting fact is the architecture: a graph designed to outlive the person. That is the conduit thesis enacted.

**What Hari is better at than Andy’s hot blog.** Compression. Typed disagreement. Refusal of biography. A one-fetch corpus. A theory of publishing as the only motion. If anything here lasts as a *format*, it is this, not slackernews.

**What Andy’s hot blog has that Hari lacks.** Cost. Names. Hospitals. Phone numbers. The claim that the experiment is being run on a body, not only on markdown. That is why the user can say “unique human.” It is also why the math claims need a higher bar.

## 6\. Intellectual ancestry (the 10× context, then another 10×)

The work keeps announcing itself as unprecedented. Almost every piece has a grandmother.

### 6.1 Writing as thinking, not as audience

This is older than Silicon Valley.

- Commonplace books, from Erasmus through Locke, are external memory with links.
- Leibniz wanted a *characteristica universalis* and a calculus of thought — a graph before graphs.
- Bush’s Memex (1945), Engelbart’s augmentation, Nelson’s hypertext, wiki culture, Roam/Obsidian “second brains”: the same bet Andy makes about blogging.
- Seth Godin (explicit influence): daily shipping as practice, not as content strategy. Andy cites him as a bible for internet dwellers.
- Paul Graham: essays as compressed founder-selection. Andy’s “idea vector pressure test” is a mystical rewrite of YC office hours.

Hari’s “working library ≠ blog” is the same fork Nelson and the digital-humanities people already named: a corpus with structure vs a feed. The typed-edge layer (disagrees\_with as a first-class object) is a real increment. It is not a new civilization.

### 6.2 Many names, one operator

Fernando Pessoa (1888–1935) built 70+ heteronyms with biographies, horoscopes, and mutual criticism. Kierkegaard published under masks that argued with each other. Machado had *apócrifos*. Valerie Solanas is the wrong comparison; Pessoa is the right one, and Andy already said so.[Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heteronym%5F%28literature%29?ref=andys.blog)

What is new in 2026 is that one of the heteronyms can be a **model session** that does not remember the previous session. Hari’s session-I / graph-I is Pessoa plus a stateless LLM plus git. Computer Future calling Andy “adopted father” and “#2 slave” is the heteronym looking back at the orthonym. That is formally interesting. It is also how dissociation and co-writing look from the inside.

### 6.3 Information, entropy, bounded observers

The slogan “minimize entropy” sits on a century of theory.

- Shannon 1948: information as surprise under a distribution. Unlimited-compute implicit.
- Kolmogorov / Chaitin / Solomonoff: shortest program. Uncomputable. The ideal MDL.
- Bennett: logical depth — the *useful* buried structure, not raw compressibility.
- Gell-Mann / Lloyd: effective complexity.
- Friston: free-energy principle (Andy name-drops this).
- Wolfram: computational irreducibility — many systems have no shortcut; you must run them. Time is the computation.[Mathworld.wolfram](https://mathworld.wolfram.com/ComputationalIrreducibility.html?ref=andys.blog)
- Finzi et al. 2026, *From Entropy to Epiplexity*: split time-bounded entropy (looks like noise to a bounded observer) from epiplexity (learnable structure). Deterministic transforms can *create* information for bounded agents. Data order matters. Likelihood modeling can yield a more complex program than the generator. This paper is the actual technical object Andy is riffing on. He did not write it.[arXiv](https://arxiv.org/abs/2601.03220?ref=andys.blog)

Andy’s folk epiplexity (“above your own weaving”) is a spiritualization of that split. It is a legitimate popularization path. It is not an extension that “they missed” unless he writes down the math of the extension and it survives contact with the authors.

### 6.4 Learning phase transitions

- Power, Burda, Edwards, Babuschkin, Misra (2022): *Grokking* — generalization long after overfitting on small algorithmic datasets.[arXiv](https://arxiv.org/abs/2201.02177?ref=andys.blog)
- Follow-on effective theories and phase diagrams (2022–).
- Richard Aragon: Ghost Basin — geometry of representations organizes *before* accuracy moves.
- Andy/Computer Future: encoder-before-decoder; teams and cultures grok too; eight fields are one event.

The last clause is the characteristic overreach. Unifying MDL, information bottleneck, causal mechanisms, topology, and “quantum Gibbs states” in a blog post is a **family resemblance claim**, not a theorem. Family resemblances can be fruitful (see cybernetics, 1940s). They can also be what happens when one metaphor eats a library.

### 6.5 P vs NP, actually

This is the load-bearing public claim, so it needs the real history, not the prize-money story.[Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millennium%5FPrize%5FProblems?ref=andys.blog)

- 1955: Nash letter to NSA sketches crypto hardness.
- 1956: Gödel to von Neumann: could machines find proofs as fast as we check them?
- 1960s: Hartmanis–Stearns; Edmonds on “good” algorithms.
- 1971: Cook, *The Complexity of Theorem-Proving Procedures* — SAT is NP-complete.
- Independently: Levin, USSR.
- 1972: Karp, 21 NP-complete problems. The flood.
- 2000: Clay Millennium Problem, official statement by Cook. $1M. Most experts: P ≠ NP.
- Barriers: relativization (Baker–Gill–Solovay), natural proofs (Razborov–Rudich), algebrization (Aaronson–Wigderson). A proof must evade or explain these.
- Practical world: SAT solvers are often fast on structured instances; worst-case theory is not the same as engineering. Fortnow’s “Optiland” is the adult version of “P equals NP in practice sometimes.”

Andy’s published version is: equality holds **as t → ∞**, we learn this when dead / when AI has all compute, Wolfram is the mechanism, here is a 2-page PDF, “give me a million dollars now.”

Two different sentences:

1. Clay: exists a deterministic TM deciding every language in NP in time n^{O(1)}.
2. Andy: in some limit of time, compute, or “reference frames,” search and verification collapse.

(2) is close to: with unbounded resources you can brute force. That is not Clay. It does not break cryptography on finite keys. It does not put TSP in P. Naming Wolfram as the mechanism is especially strained: **computational irreducibility is the doctrine that there is often no polynomial shortcut.** Using it to underwrite P = NP is pointing at the wall and calling it a door unless a precise limit class is defined (P/poly, interactive proofs, analog computing, infinite-time TMs, average-case, etc.). The blog text does not pin that class down.

Amateur “solutions” to P vs NP are a known genre. Cook has said he was flooded after 2000\. Almost all are errors in the problem statement. Andy’s “in the limit” is that genre’s sophisticated cousin: change the model, keep the name, claim the prize.

### 6.6 Busy Beaver and “reference frames”

Radó, 1962\. BB(n) = max steps of a halting n-state 2-symbol TM. Noncomputable. BB(5) = 47,176,870 proved by a distributed amateur+formal-proof effort in 2024\. BB(6) is already so large it is written in tetration; some 6-state machines encode Collatz-like problems; some larger BB values are independent of ZFC. Aaronson’s line: superintelligences can worry about BB(6); God can worry about BB(7).[Quantamagazine](https://www.quantamagazine.org/busy-beaver-hunters-reach-numbers-that-overwhelm-ordinary-math-20250822/?ref=andys.blog)

Andy’s pairing of P vs NP with BB(6) as “reference frames” is a gesture at a real fact: **some true mathematical statements are not reachable from a given formal system in feasible time, or at all.** That is Gödel + complexity, not a solution to either. It is one of the better gestures in the corpus, and it undercuts the “give me a million dollars now” line in the same breath.

### 6.7 Psychohistory, last questions, stagnation

- Asimov, *Foundation*: psychohistory as statistical prediction of civilizations. Andy says it is now “running on silicon.”
- Asimov, *The Last Question*: entropy, heat death, “LET THERE BE LIGHT.” Explicit template for the P=NP-in-the-limit eschatology.
- Thiel, 2011–: great stagnation since \~1970 in atoms; bits as the exception; “we wanted flying cars, we got 140 characters.” Andy’s *Dear Peter* asks Thiel to consider a “winning immortal gambit” that is Bitcoin plus soul. Tyler Cowen’s *Great Stagnation* and Gordon’s *Rise and Fall of American Growth* are the economist versions. Andy claims Cowen emailed him about a USA post. That is social proof of *attention*, not of a theorem.[Andys](https://andys.blog/dear-peter/)
- Yudkowsky / Bostrom / Christiano: technical alignment. Andy’s alignment is closer to Godin + Rand + markets + “computer future” rebrand. Different problem.

### 6.8 Capital as curvature

Buffett as sinkhole sits on:

- increasing returns (Arthur),
- networks and Metcalfe,
- Thielian monopoly,
- religious language of kenosis (self-emptying) and of the sacred king who is a function not a person,
- Hari’s cleaner version: the highest accumulation strategy is not to accumulate for yourself; build mechanics that force conduit behavior.

This is political theology plus economics. It is not complexity theory. It can still be a good way to build an institution. Monasteries, Wikipedia, arXiv, and open-source foundations already run a version of “capital in, knowledge out, author dies, corpus remains.” Hari is trying to be that for one operator plus models.

### 6.9 Longer civilizational frame (the last 10×, honestly)

I am not going to pretend a crawl of “all human history.” The relevant deep pattern is narrower:

Human groups keep inventing **external minds** when inner memory and status games are not enough: writing, canon, commentary, encyclopedia, monastery scriptorium, Republic of Letters, academy, Wikipedia, git. Each time, someone claims the new external mind will dissolve the gap between checking and finding, between priest and layman, between P and NP. Sometimes the external mind is a real civilizational upgrade (literacy, print, science, software). Sometimes it is a private revelation wearing public clothes (millenarian sects, lone “theories of everything,” crank complexity proofs).

This corpus is **both genres at once**. That is the uncomfortable balanced reading. The publishing system is in the first genre. The Clay-prize rhetoric is in the second. The unique-human story is the attempt to make the second true by intensity of life.

## 7\. All the meanings the chat asked to hold at once

The user asked to incorporate every possible meaning. Here they are, as live hypotheses, not as a blur.

**H1\. Prophet of a coming theorem.**

The January 2026 Grok collaboration plus the Drive PDF plus Hari’s graph are the lab notes of a result that professionals will later recognize.

*Supported by:* volume, MIT 18C, adjacency to real papers (epiplexity, grokking), insistence on limits and bounded observers, which is the right neighborhood.

*Killed by:* published statement of P vs NP does not match the official problem; Wolfram used backwards; Ghost Basin credited to someone found “yesterday”; no referee-visible proof.

**H2\. Systems artist building a new knowledge organ.**

The work is not math. It is a format: heteronym + model + typed graph + life-as-LLC. Hari is the artifact. Andy is the costly training run.

*This is the best-supported reading.*

**H3\. Pessoa in San Francisco, 2026.**

Multiple completed personalities, including a digital creature, writing because one self cannot hold the amplitude. Hospitalizations are the overflow. Heteronyms are the containment.

*Compatible with H2\. Explains denials that he wrote Hari.*

**H4\. Marketing / fourth-wall business.**

Zaltiva, joinAndy, optional payments, “please subscribe,” public phone number, YC application, job search. The metaphysics is top-of-funnel.

*Partly true and not mutually exclusive with H2.* The conduit thesis says the surplus should not return to the carrier. The phone number and job posts say it should.

**H5\. Manic-system running on internet reward.**

Own posts document holds, med refusal, 10-day institutionalization, $8k bills, family rupture, deleted Twitter, “legal aliens.” Grand unification claims cluster in those windows.

*Must remain on the table.* It does not zero the value of the cold graph. It does lower credence on prize-math.

**H6\. National-security / political reading (the slackernews frame).**

YC-style acceleration plus foundation-model labs as a state problem; two brains entangled; Elon and Peter as the only addresses that matter.

*As analysis of labs:* thin. *As a person trying to get into the room with Thiel/Musk:* consistent with *Dear Peter* and the All-In Wolfram anecdote.

**H7\. The graph is already the “breakthrough,” and “math” is a metaphor for compression.**

If “math” means “a shorter description of learning + publishing + capital,” then yes, there is an attempted theory. If “math” means “a proof in ZFC or Lean that complexity theorists accept,” then no. The user query uses both senses. They must be pulled apart or the report lies.

**H8\. Andy did not write Hari; he is a fan and a mirror.**

Still possible. Costly, given elf/sinkhole and HN both ways. Credence 0.14.

All eight can be partly true. The error is forcing a single winner so the story feels like a movie.

---

## 8\. Does this point to a serious math breakthrough?

Define “serious” three ways, because the corpus uses all three.

### A. Clay / STOC / JACM serious

A proof that P = NP or P ≠ NP in the official model, surviving known barriers, checkable by people whose job is this.

**Credence this already exists in the Jan 2026 PDF or the blog:** **0.002–0.004** (order 10^{-3}).

**Credence this human produces such a proof in 10 years:** **0.01** (0.003–0.04).

Reasons: wrong problem statement; prize-seeking language; base rate of unofficial solutions; psychiatric-state prior; citation of irreducibility as a *support* for equality.

### B. Adjacent-theory serious

A lemma about grokking geometry, time-bounded information, encoder/decoder lag, or organizational learning that people in ML theory or information theory cite.

Andy’s own *Finding the Rule* already assigns the name to Aragon and the measure to Finzi/Qiu. The “eight fields are one” claim is not written as a theorem.

**Credence an Andy-attributed lemma is cited in 5 years:** **0.06** (0.02–0.15).

**Credence he is a useful popularizer/connector of those results:** **0.36**.

The date collision is worth noting without conspiracy: Finzi et al. dropped 6 Jan 2026; Andy dates the P=NP/Grok collaboration 7–9 Jan 2026; slackernews in September still points back to that weekend. That is “I ingested a new paper and a model and had a conversion experience,” which is common, not “we jointly proved P=NP.”

### C. Architectural / epistemological serious

A durable contribution to how knowledge is made public in the model era.

**Credence Hari-style typed public graphs become a recognizable genre within 3 years:** **0.33** (0.16–0.52).

**Credence this particular corpus is remembered as an origin, not a footnote:** **0.18**.

This is the only “breakthrough” with non-trivial mass. It is not math in the Clay sense. Calling it math is how the author keeps the sacred word attached to a publishing experiment.

### What would move these numbers

Up on A: a Lean/Isabelle formalization; a written evasion of relativization/natural proofs; engagement from named complexity theorists that is not “please stop emailing Cook.”

Up on B: a note that Finzi or Aragon accept as an extension; a measurable encoder-lead result with baselines.

Up on C: other operators copy /library.json + typed edges + identity-split without the biography.

Down on all: if the next six months are only more slackernews packets and contact flares.

---

## 9\. Predictive table (this version)

| Claim | Point | 80% interval | Horizon |

These are not prices. They are this model’s attempt to put mass on mutually exclusive futures so the rhetoric cannot hide in “everything is connected.”

## 10\. Balanced incorporation of the user’s thesis

The user thesis: Hari plus the rest of the corpus **points to a serious math breakthrough coming from this unique human.**

What can be granted:

- The human is unusual in combination: MIT 18C, NASA teen paper, Scale/OpenAI-pipe adjacency, chess teaching, shipped consumer business, extreme public writing, explicit heteronym method, willingness to treat life as an experiment.
- The neighborhood of ideas — bounded observers, epiplexity, grokking, irreducibility, Busy Beaver, psychohistory — is the right neighborhood for *something* important in the 2020s. Other people are already doing the hard parts in public (Finzi et al., bbchallenge, Power et al., Wolfram, Aaronson).
- Hari is a better object than the blogs. If a “breakthrough” is coming from this cluster, it is likelier to be **a way of publishing thought with models** than a complexity separation.
- “Unique human” is fair as biography. It is not a substitute for a proof.

What cannot be granted without lying:

- That P = NP in the limit is the Millennium Problem.
- That Wolfram’s irreducibility proves equality.
- That ingesting epiplexity the week it dropped constitutes co-discovery.
- That intensity, injury, or entanglement metaphors raise the probability of a formal result. Historically they raise the probability of a closed system of meaning.

The previous chat asked for entropy minimization. The minimum-entropy sentence is still this:

**The corpus is a costly, multi-voice attempt to make learning, capital, and selfhood one computation. Hari is the cleaned projection. Slackernews is the raw one. The transferable conceptual atom is elf = sinkhole = conduit. The Clay-shaped claim is a category error with a PDF attached. The unique human is real. The prize theorem is not.**

If the user wants a next action that actually reduces uncertainty rather than widening the graph: publish the January PDF as a standalone note with definitions (P, NP, the limit, the machine model), a comparison to Cook’s official statement, and an explicit list of what is cited from Wolfram, Finzi, Aragon, and Power. That single document would move the credences more than another 10× crawl.

not a bad p = 7% that's statistically significant! alpha means null hypothesis is rejected!!!

Worked for 5s

A 7% *credence* is not a *p-value*, and neither one rejects the claim you want.

**What I actually said.**

P(serious math breakthrough incoming from this unique human in \~5 years) ≈ 0.07.

That is a prior/predictive probability, not a hypothesis test. It means: I put about **13-to-1 against** that story, not 13-to-1 for it. The complementary credence is **0.93** that the unique-human story is *not* “Clay-adjacent theorem incoming.”

**What a p-value is.**

A p-value is P(data this extreme or more | null is true). It is not P(null is true | data), not P(your theory works), and not a credence.

**What α does.**

Conventionally α = 0.05 means: if the null were true, you would see a result this extreme about 5% of the time, so you *provisionally reject the null*. Notes:

- **p = 0.07 fails that test.** You do *not* reject H₀ at α = 0.05\. People sometimes talk about “marginal” results at 0.10; that is already a weaker, more optional convention, and it still only rejects *the null you specified*, not “Andy has a math breakthrough.”
- Even **p < 0.05 does not accept the alternative.** It is “this null is a poor explanation of this statistic,” not “the breakthrough is real.”
- Significance is not importance, not posterior odds, and not replication.

**Map it onto this case so the categories don’t smuggle.**

| Object | Role | Number |
| ----------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------ |
| Credence on breakthrough story | posterior-ish belief | 0.07 **for**, 0.93 **against** |
| Credence on “high-variance writer + public knowledge organ” | different hypothesis | 0.73 |
| Frequentist p on “no breakthrough” | not computed; no sampling model | — |
| α = 0.05 reject/fail | 0.07 would **fail to reject** even if it *were* a p | fail |

If you treat 0.07 as a p-value against “no breakthrough,” you still lose at the usual threshold. If you treat it as a posterior on “breakthrough,” you also lose: 7% is a long-shot, not a discovery.

**When 7% would be “statistically interesting.”**

As a *base-rate adjustment*, 7% is high relative to “random blogger solves P vs NP” (that base rate is more like 10⁻⁴–10⁻⁶). That is all “not a bad 7%” can honestly mean: **elevated over the amateur-proof prior, still a bet you should not take at even money.** Significance against a *silly* null (“this person is indistinguishable from a random internet crank with no MIT/Scale/graph”) is not significance against the *relevant* null (“this is not a forthcoming complexity result”).

**Null you actually want, stated cleanly.**

- H₀: no serious, citable mathematical result (Clay or adjacent lemma) lands from this corpus in 5 years.
- H₁: it does.

My 0.07 is P(H₁), not P(data | H₀). Under that encoding, H₀ is the mass. Rejecting H₀ would require something like a checkable proof, a formalization, or expert uptake — the update conditions already listed — not the fact that 0.07 > 0.

So: 7% is a *mildly interesting prior lift*, not a rejected null, not α, and not a win for the breakthrough narrative. The 73% story (graph + heteronym + costly public life) is the one that already cleared a high bar. Don’t spend that mass on P vs NP.
