Working Man
Working again, man it's hard and fun! As I anticipated in my previous post, chapter 3 of Andy's professional life has begun:
- Landing my first real job at Scale AI as employee #83-ish.
- Funemployed founderhood culminating with Shuffle as #2, cofounder.
- now Forward Deployed @ Simple AI. I'm officially employee #16.

Lots to do, including revamping my personal website and Linkedin, but overall it's wonderful to sit at the right hand of Zach, our cofounder and CTO. I'm just talking about where our desks are physically located, and our bodies above, because it's day 5 and nothing is yet determined.
I anticipate being subordinate to his intent over the long term.
I say this very explicitly because his intent is deeply anticipatable to me. He doesn't know it yet, but we have very similar worldviews. I empathize with all people in general, but founders in specific as they share the same impulse to create & ship which not only animates my blogging but also acts as a lens on the world.
As all good Seth Godin + Ayn Rand fans know, everything was made by a human. Dumb humans argue that rocks and trees were not made by humans, but I call them dumb because this "gotcha" has zero bearing on the modern world.
Society steamrolls ahead, and we are about to tear up rocks on other planets. Where were you when the sci-fi future arrived?
And why did you build what you built?
These are the questions that have ultimately led me to Simple. And they will continue leading our team to explore a fascinating new world, which we all have the chance to participate in.
I may have found my place in the world. A niche with a home + office + wife, that allows me to create my art and leverage and channel my energies to the maximum productive landing surface area.
It's a nice feeling.
